EXO² flexible, robust and safe heat generating technologies Heated Clothing and Heated Motorcycle Clothing. Welcome to 'FabRoc®'. This polymer based material is lightweight, waterproof, windproof, crushproof and stretchable. It is intrinsically safe through being chemically inert and is fully CE compliant. It serves also as an excellent format for latent heat transfer in Polymers.
Core Technology Electrically Heated Clothing / Battery Heated Clothing.
The technology centres around a core unique polymer based element that heats up when low voltage is passed through it and is powered by either rechargeable batteries, a mains power adaptor or from the accessory socket of a car or motorcycle. By regulating the voltage applied the heating element can be made to heat up to a pre-defined level to create a uniform area of heat with no hot spots. Uniform distribution and dissipation of heat allows the heating element to be located in close proximity of the area to be heated, thus maximising heating and minimising heating response time.
Loading the polymer, at the heart of the heating component, with conductive particles enhances its conductivity properties and results in the element exhibiting a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) when heated.
PTC is a characteristic many materials exhibit whereby resistance increases with temperature in a non-linear fashion. Once the material reaches the desired temperature, it self regulates. An optional universal controller allows the user to select temperature settings.

FabRoc®, is in the forefront of the new generation of 'smart' heated clothing and textiles, which will enable users to harness the power of the sun, combined with Li-Ion (Lithium-Ion) battery technology (as used so effectively in mobile phones), to operate a phalanx of electronic and information systems; from vital sign sensors, through MP3 and mobile phone operation, to heat which is available literally at the press of a fabric switch on the arm or at the collar of your Jacket or Fleece.
How do the heating components work? When the heating element is at room ambient temperature, numerous conductive "chains" exist within the material. When low voltage is applied, current flows through the device, causing a rise in heat. Once the heat rises, it creates a small expansion, causing the conductive particles to move apart from each other. The resistance of the device increases, the material conducts less current and temperature is regulated.
Key Features Virtually indestructible. The rubber like structure of the heating element makes it flexible enough to be configured into almost any shape. Thus, making it easy to incorporate into most garments and systems. Unlike wire based systems, the heating component continues to operate even if slit or torn without the possibility of a short circuit. Operating from a low voltage means that heating systems for light users can be powered by rechargeable batteries. The weight of these battery packs (no heavier than a modern mobile phone) makes the heating system ideal for portable use.
Intrinsically safe - due to the positive temperature coefficient properties of the polymer.
Inert - The polymer is resistant to most chemicals making it ideal for use in extreme environments.
High energy efficiency - over 98% conversion of electrical energy into heat.
I have been testing the following products for over two months and have to say they are everything I was looking for in motorcycle heated products. The gloves are robust and are like sports bike gloves with kevlar reinforcement where you would like it, over the knuckles and down the little finger.
The heated Storm rider
vest is dual purpose in as much as you can purchase an extra battery pack and use the vest away from the bike.
StormShield - The EXO² Heated Motorcycle Glove
The internal piping system delivers heat to all the right places and you can even link StormShield to your StormRider Body warmer and to the optional StormRider Controller Unit. Not only does this glove remove the curse of frozen fingers, it is an excellent product for serious all-year around motorcyclists. I also got the Controller Unit and it was very easy to fit.
StormRider - The EXO² Heated Motorcycle Vest
The EXO² StormRider heated vest has an innovative and unique climate control system that has been developed to satisfy the needs of professional motorcyclists. The StormRider is designed to provide you with warmth where and when you need it, whatever the weather. This product is great and is worth serious consideration when looking for heated clothing.

The glove is a full sports style glove with knuckle and finger protection because of this they can be used as standard motorcycle gloves they are also fully waterproof.
